Butterfly Control Valves
Standard Control Butterfly Valves designed to give control of liquids and gases where a tight shut-off is not required.
Swing Clear Valves have an equal % valve characteristic between the 10° and 60° open positions, and are used as Control Valves with Shut Off to ANSI/FCI 70-2 Class I and II. Depending upon the size and temperature, this valve design can be specially machined to give better than Class II Shut Off.
If leakage through the Standard Valve is greater than required, a Step Seat can be designed into the valve to reduce the leakage with Shut Off to ANSI/FCI 70-2 Class III, depending on temperature and pressure.
A Step Seat Valve can also maintain a constant leakage at variable temperature.

- Valves of non standard dimensions can be made as direct replacements for valves no longer available thus avoiding expensive pipe-work alterations.
Seating
The standard control valve is a "swing clear" design. If a reduced leakage is required a "step seat" is available which gives improved shut off capability.
